More and more drivers in the Maple Shade and Cherry Hill areas are opting for eco-friendly vehicles, whether hybrid or fully electric. One of the many benefits of choosing an electric vehicle is the fact that it is easier to maintain. This is because electric vehicles have a simpler design and fewer moving parts. If you are new to EV ownership, you may have questions about the Cadillac electric car maintenance schedule. This is why we have created a resource that covers Cadillac EV routine maintenance.

Cadillac Electric Car Maintenance Schedule

As part of our Cadillac EV maintenance guide, we have included some of the most important Cadillac EV routine maintenance tasks and when each should be completed.

  • Battery Checks – Regularly checking your battery is one of the most important Cadillac EV routine maintenance tasks. This is especially true if your electric car runs on a lithium-ion pack. While most EV batteries will last 100,000 miles or more, regularly having the battery checked is essential to catching any small issues before they lead to major problems.
  • Brake Fluid Replacement – An electric car brake inspection and fluid flush should be performed every 3-5 years. If the brake warning light flashes on your driver information cluster, this may need to be performed sooner.
  • Coolant System Maintenance – Another important part of the Cadillac electric car maintenance schedule is addressing the coolant system. Most EVs have special thermal management or cooling systems to prolong the life of the battery. Be sure to check your owner’s manual to see when this is recommended for your particular make and model.
  • Tire Rotation – EVs are heavier than similarly sized vehicles with an internal combustion engine. That makes tire care even more important. In general, have your tires rotated every 5,000 to 10,000 miles.
  • Wheel Alignment – Have your wheels aligned every 15,000 miles to improve mile range and reduce tire tread wear.
  • Air Filter Replacement – Regularly replace the air filter to reduce pollen, road dust, dirt, and other potentially harmful particles. It should be replaced every 2-3 years. If your vehicle has a specialty air filter, you may only need to replace it every 5 years.
